Astronomy vs. Astrology

The study of everything beyond our terrestrial atmosphere from stars, to black holes, to even aliens, has always interested our human species. The thing that we're never too clear on though, would be which field of science studies this subject specifically: Astronomy or Astrology? The confusion has been heating up for many years now, so what exactly are the differences between Astronomy and Astrology?

Astronomy is the study of the universe beyond Earth’s atmosphere. It is the study of the positions, the properties, and the movements of all celestial bodies and phenomena ranging anywhere from planets to galaxies, to evolution and destruction, and even to the past and the future. Astronomy is the field in science for all space related theories that can be physically tested.

Astrology is the study of how the positions, the properties, and the movements of celestial bodies affect the people and the events on Earth. Astrology observes things like horoscopes, changes in your life, and almost anything else you want it to tell you. Astrology, though, is not black and white; it focuses on predictions and theories that cannot be physically proved or explained. The study of astrology is a form of art.

The fool-proof astronomy and the magical astrology; which one would you trust more? Although astronomy can be proved physically, astrology can give us the answers to things we don’t understand; it can give us reasons for why “everything happens for a reason.” For some people, believing they know everything makes them feel better that just knowing the only understand some things.
